이 교수의 연구실은 수자원 및 해안환경의 지속가능성을 중심으로 한 수문·수질 및 해안 erosion에 관한 종합적 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 주로 강의 수질 오염 원인 분석, 기후 변화에 따른 수질 지표의 공간적 변동성 평가, 그리고 해안 침식의 메커니즘과 취약성 분석을 통해 자연환경과 인위적 영향의 상호작용을 규명하고자 합니다. 특히 아시아 지역의 다양한 기후대에서의 수질 모델링과 해안선 변화 예측 모델을 활용한 실증적 연구가 두드러집니다.
