Koji Kawakami 교수의 연구실은 주로 암 치료를 위한 표적 치료 전략 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 IL-13 수용체 알파2( IL-13Rα2)의 발현과 기능을 중심으로, 이 수용체를 이용한 세포 내 유도된 세포독성 작용 및 뇌신생물 치료를 위한 지속적 약물 공급 기술(CED)의 응용을 연구하고 있습니다. 또한, 혈액 투석 환자에서의 우레미아 독소(p-크레졸)와 장기능 이상의 연관성 등 대사독소와 질병 간의 관계에 대해서도 탐구하고 있습니다.

The interleukin-13 receptor (IL-13R) complex is composed of 2 different chains, IL-13Ralpha1 (also known as IL-13Ralpha') and IL-13Ralpha2 (also known as IL-13Ralpha).
