Kozo Tanaka 교수의 연구실은 유전자 발현 조절과 유전자 재조합 메커니즘을 중심으로, 스플라이싱 조절 요소와 SNF2/SWI2 계열의 ATPase 단백질이 세포 내 유전적 안정성과 유전자 복구에 미치는 영향을 연구하고 있습니다. 특히 면역글로불린 유전자에서의 스플라이싱 염기서열, RAD54B와 같은 재조합 관련 단백질의 기능 및 상호작용 메커니즘을 분자생물학적·세포생물학적 접근으로 규명하고 있습니다. 또한, 세포 분열 과정에서의 염색체 안정성과 이분열 이상이 암 발생과 어떻게 연관되는지에 대한 기초 연구도 진행 중입니다.

Nucleoporins (Nup) are components of the nuclear pore complex, which is essential for nuclear transport during interphase, but several nucleoporins are also known to be involved in chromosome segregation.
