Contemporary research has focused on the function of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in carcinogenesis. However, the involvement of the lncRNA, steroid receptor RNA activator (SRA), in cervical carcinogenesis remains to be elucidated. In the present study, we investigated the bio-functional consequences of lncRNA SRA knockdown in vitro. To verify the role of lncRNA SRA in cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, lncRNA RNA interference was utilized to knock down lncRNA SRA expression in cervi
Using the multi-gene panel test, we found that, of all patients included in our study, 32.5% had germline cancer-predisposing mutations. NGS was confirmed to substantially improve the detection rates of a wide spectrum of mutations in EOC patients compared with those obtained with the BRCA1/2 testing alone.
Somatic mutation analysis by next-generation sequencing, in addition to germline BRCA1/2 mutation analysis, should become the standard of care for managing women with high-grade serous ovarian cancer to widen the indication of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors.
Our study provides further evidence for the RS being a safe surgical alternative to the LS and OS, especially in low-risk endometrial cancer patients, offering surgical and oncologic outcomes equivalent to other surgical approaches.
Patientswith <i>BRCA1/2</i> mutation had longer OS than thosewith <i>BRCA1/2</i>wild type. Patients with <i>BRCA1/2</i> mutation and <i>BRCA1/2</i> VUS displayed similar prognoses.
The institutional learning curve, represented by the operation year, is one of the most significant factors associated with outcomes of RRH for early-stage cervical cancer.
<i>HOX</i> family members encode transcription factors crucial for embryogenesis and may be associated with carcinogenesis. Here, we evaluated the expression of 39 <i>HOX</i> genes in cervical cancer by using clinicopathological information and gene expression data of 308 patients from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. Correlations between mRNA expression of HOX family members and clinicopathological variables were explored. Seventy-three (23.7%) patients died during the follow-up period
Adjuvant surgical procedures, especially hysterectomy and pulmonary resection for chemoresistant disease, as well as procedures to control hemorrhage, are pivotal in the management of GTN.
Tumorigenicity in a xenograft model was a strong prognostic factor and was associated with more aggressive tumors in EOC patients. Xenograft models can be useful as a preclinical tool to predict prognosis and could be applied to further pharmacologic and genomic studies on personalized treatments.
Systematic LND may have therapeutic value in advanced EOC patients treated with NAC and IDS.
The prognostic significance of pelvic and para-aortic lymphadenectomy during primary debulking surgery for advanced-stage ovarian cancer remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the survival impact of lymph node dissection (LND) in patients treated with optimal cytoreduction for advanced ovarian cancer. Data from 158 consecutive patients with stage IIIC-IV disease who underwent optimal cytoreduction (<1 cm) were obtained via retrospective chart review. Patients were classified into two grou
Our findings indicate that E2F8 is highly correlated with ovarian cancer progression. Hence, E2F8 can be utilized as a prognostic marker and therapeutic target against ovarian malignancy.
RSS using three robotic arms and laparotomy for endometrial carcinoma had comparable survival outcomes.
