시오카와 마사히로 교수의 연구실은 자가면역성 췌장염(AIP)과 면역글로불린G4 관련 질환(IgG4-RD)의 발병 기전을 밝히는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 췌장에 손상을 유도하는 자가항체, 특히 레이닌 511-E8에 대한 항체의 역할과 IgG 항체가 조직에 결합하여 병변을 유도하는 메커니즘을 규명하고 있습니다. 또한 PARP-1 기능 이상과 생식세포 종양의 연관성 등 유전적 요인과 세포 신호전달 경로의 역할을 탐색하며 자가면역질환과 암의 연관성에 대한 통합적 접근을 시도하고 있습니다.

Patients with AIP are at high risk of having various cancers. The highest risk for cancer in the first year after AIP diagnosis and absence of AIP relapse after successful treatment of the coexisting cancers suggest that AIP may develop as a paraneoplastic syndrome in some patients.
Autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP), a major manifestation of immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD), is an immune-mediated disorder, but the target autoantigens are still unknown. Our case is a first report of autoimmune pancreatitis with multiple masses within the pancreas which was pathologically diagnosed by endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration and treated by steroid. The masses disappeared by steroid therapy. Our case is informative to know that autoimmune pancreatitis sometimes exhibits multiple masses within the pancreas and to diagnose it without unnecessary surgery.
