김민수 교수의 연구실은 시각적 음성 인식(VSR)과 립 투 스피치(Lip-to-Speech) 합성 기술에 중점을 두고 있으며, 특히 저자원 언어나 실외 환경에서도 정확한 음성 복원이 가능한 멀티모달 기반의 지능형 음성 인식 시스템을 개발하고 있습니다. 음성 정보가 부족한 상황에서도 시각적 립 움직임만으로도 정확한 음성 추론이 가능한 메모리 기반의 다중 모odal 통합 기반 프레임워크를 핵심 기술로 연구하고 있습니다. 특히, 유사한 립 동작이더라도 다른 발음으로 구분되는 '동음이의' 문제를 해결하기 위해 시각적 전역적 맥락과 음성 표현 간의 상관관계를 효과적으로 모델링하는 기술을 개발하고 있습니다.

To this end, we start with importing the rich knowledge related to image comprehension and language modeling from a large-scale pre-trained vision-language model into Im2Sp.
