競技特性の異なる女性スポーツ選手の安静時代謝量(Resting energy expenditure: REE)を比較することを目的として,81名の女子選手(年齢:20.3±1.2歳,身長:162.3±6.5cm,体重:56.4±7.9kg,体脂肪率:20.4±5.1%,除脂肪量(LBM):44.8±5.0kg)および同年代の運動習慣のない女子大学生16名を対象として測定を行った。選手群は競技特性により持久系21名,瞬発系40名及び球技系20名の3つの競技特性群に分類した。REEは間接法にて測定し,身体組成は空気置換法にて測定した。1日当たり,体重あたり,LBMあたりのいずれの単位においても全ての群間で有意差は認められなかった。REEと体重およびLBMとの間には,選手群,コントロール群ともに有意な正の相関関係が認められた。競技特性群別のREEとLBMとの回帰式の傾きと切片には差は認められなかった。また,重回帰分析の結果,選手群のREEの説明因子としてLBMとT3が抽出され,LBMで45.0%,T3を加えることにより50.3%が説明できることが明らかとなった。以上より,競技特性の異なるス
