Solution-processable perovskite materials have garnered tremendous attention because of their excellent charge carrier mobility, possibility of a tunable optical bandgap, and high photoluminescence quantum efficiency (PLQE). In particular, the uniform morphology of a perovskite film is the most important factor in realizing perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) with high efficiency and full-coverage electroluminescence (EL). In this study, we demonstrate highly efficient PeLEDs that contain
Lead halide perovskites (LHPs) are emerging as promising materials for light-emitting device applications because of the tunability of the band gap, narrow emission, solution processability, and flexibility. Typically, LHP nanocrystals (NCs) with surface ligands show high photoluminescence quantum yields because of charge-carrier confinement with higher exciton binding energy ( Eb). However, the conventionally used oleylamine (OAm) ligands result in the low electrical conductivity and
The interfacial dipolar polarization in inverted structure polymer solar cells, which arises spontaneously from the absorption of ethanolamine end groups, such as amine and hydroxyl groups on ripple-structure zinc oxide (ZnO-R), lowers the contact barrier for electron transport and extraction and leads to enhanced electron mobility, suppression of bimolecular recombination, reduction of the contact resistance and series resistance, and remarkable enhancement of the power conversion efficiency.
The addition of chemical additives is considered as a promising approach for obtaining high-quality perovskite films under mild conditions, which is essential for both the efficiency and the stability of organic-inorganic hybrid perovskite solar cells (PeSCs). Although such additive engineering yields high-quality films, the inherent insulating property of the chemical additives prevents the efficient transport and extraction of charge carriers, thereby limiting the applicability of this approac
The development of alternative organic light-emitting diode (OLED) fabrication technologies for high-definition and low-cost displays is an important research topic as conventional fine metal mask-assisted vacuum evaporation has reached its limit to reduce pixel sizes and manufacturing costs. Here, we report an electrohydrodynamic jet (e-jet) printing method to fabricate small-molecule OLED pixels with high resolution (pixel width of 5 μm), which significantly exceeds the resolutions of conventi
Organic-inorganic hybrid perovskites are emerging as promising emitting materials due to their narrow full-width at half-maximum emissions, color tunability, and high photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs). However, the thermal generation of free charges at room temperature results in a low radiative recombination rate and an excitation-intensity-dependent PLQY, which is associated with the trap density. Here, we report perovskite films composed of uniform nanosized single crystals (average di
Metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have emerged as promising emitters because of their excellent optoelectronic properties, including high photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs), wide-range color tunability, and high color purity. However, a fundamental limitation of MHPs is their low exciton binding energy, which results in a low radiative recombination rate and the dependence of PLQY on the excitation intensity. Under the operating conditions of light-emitting diodes (LEDs), the injected curren
Abstract Metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have emerged as promising materials for light‐emitting diodes owing to their narrow emission spectrum and wide range of color tunability. However, the low exciton binding energy in MHPs leads to a competition between the trap‐mediated nonradiative recombination and the bimolecular radiative recombination. Here, efficient and stable green emissive perovskite light‐emitting diodes (PeLEDs) with an external quantum efficiency of 14.6% are demonstrated throug
A perovskite LED with a perovskite film treated under optimum thermal annealing conditions exhibits a significantly enhanced long-term stability with full coverage of the green electroluminescence emission due to the highly uniform morphology of the perovskite film.
We demonstrate enhanced device performance by surface modification of n-type ZnO using ionic liquid molecules (ILMs) in hybrid organic–inorganic polymeric light-emitting diodes (HyPLEDs) and solar cells (HySCs). Spontaneously aligned dipole polarization within the thin ILMs layer reduces the electron injection barrier, and significantly enhances the electron injection efficiency in HyPLEDs and the open-circuit voltage (VOC) in HySCs.
Metal oxide charge transport layers are widely used to promote the interfacial charge transport of organic optoelectronics. Nevertheless, frequently used wide-bandgap metal oxides with low electrical conductivities reveal inherent limitations in the charge transport enhancement. We present the remarkable electro-conductivity enhancement of solution processable ZnO charge transport layers upon dispersing a tiny amount (less than 0.1 wt%) of chemically doped CNTs and the corresponding device perfo
The change in the work function (WF) of ZnO with amine-based interfacial mole-cules (AIM) can be controlled by the number of amine groups. AIM with a larger amine group can induce a stronger interface dipole between the amine groups and the ZnO surface, leading to a greater reduction of the WF.
We report highly efficient perovskite LEDs with a reduced hole injection barrier and improved crystallinity of perovskite using a PEDOT:MoO3 composite layer.
