나오키 스즈끼 교수의 연구실은 신경퇴행성질환, 특히 암초상성 뇌병변과 근萎縮의 분자 기전을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 주로 포유류 근육의 위축 메커니즘과 신경세포의 축삭 유지 기전에서의 단백질 분해, 세포골격, 에너지 대사 이상에 초점을 맞추고 있으며, ALS(루게릭병)와 관련된 유전자 변이, 단백질 축적, 신경근육 접합부의 기능 이상 등 신경퇴행의 핵심 경로를 규명하고자 합니다. 특히 FUS/TLS 단백질의 비정상적 축적과 근육 특이적 E3 리불린 리가제의 발현 조절 메커니즘을 중심으로 기전 연구를 수행하고 있습니다.
