Teledentistry is an online dental care service that allows patients and dentists to meet in real time, safely, without being at the same location. During the COVID-19 pandemic, real-time videoconferencing has gained popularity in the field of teledentistry, with numerous benefits for both patients and dentists. Online consultations can minimize costs, maximize time, and provide more convenient care options for both patients and dentists. When practicing teledentistry, a dentist must establish a
The aim of direct pulp capping (DPC) is to promote pulp healing and mineralized tissue barrier formation by placing a dental biomaterial directly over the exposed pulp. Successful application of this approach avoids the need for further and more extensive treatment. In order to ensure a complete pulp healing with the placement of restorative materials, a mineralized tissue barrier must form to protect the pulp from microbial invasion. The formation of mineralized tissue barrier can only be induc
The soft tissue morphology shows a relative improvement after orthodontic treatment.
The hypothesis is rejected. The soft tissue morphology of patients with dento-skeletal Class III malocclusion shows a significant improvement after orthognathic surgery.
The favourable pulpal responses and induction of mineralized tissue formation associated with MTAPPL indicate its potential application as a direct pulp capping material.
This study deals with transmission dynamics of novel influenza A (H1N1) virus to understand the evolution of its epidemic in Bangladesh. For this purpose an SEIR model has been employed to study the dynamics of A (H1N1) virus relating to data of Bangladesh. To find threshold conditions, the equilibria and stability of the equilibria of the model have been determined and also analyzed. Basic Reproductive Number (R0) is determined relating to data of Bangladesh by which Herd Immunity Threshold has
Hydrogels functionalized with advanced biomaterials and bioengineering approaches can overcome the existing shortcomings, enabling their smooth transition into clinical practice. Nevertheless, further research is required to elucidate their long-term effects and optimal application methods.
Background: The aim of the present study was to do an overview of the arch dimension for various populations. Also, to evaluate the various type of measurement methods and sexual disparities. Two reviewers independently performed the selection process and the quality of studies was assessed.
Method: Studies published form January 2000 until October 2015 were identified in electronic databases: Pubmed, Scopus, Science direct, Web of Science, Medpilot and Medline using keywords.Criteria used
Abstract Tuberculosis (TB) is a very rare cause of biliary stricture that is difficult to diagnose and usually requires surgical intervention in order to rule out underlying malignant etiology. A 28-years old woman with obstructive jaundice, who was originally thought to have cholangio-carcinoma. Diagnosis of tuberculosis was made on PCR testing of bile. Patient was started on antitubercular treatment, and she responded well. This case presented a rare case of common bile duct stricture due to b
Arginine Vasopressin (AVP), also known as antidiuretic hormone, is a endogenously secreted peptide by the posterior pituitary in response to hyperosmolar plasma or systemic hypoperfusion states.
Research related to tooth size, tooth size discrepancy and relationship with BMI in transgender population is yet to be explored in dentistry. The purpose of this study is to establish normative data on mesiodistal width dimensions associated with BMI and tooth size discrepancy in transgender population. The data were derived from dental casts of 151 transgender individuals (75 transgender male, 76 transgender female; age group 18-30). Data were analysed using independent t-test and ANOVA. The m
Recently, premix bioceramic-based pulp capping (BPC) materials have been introduced with desirable properties. However, data regarding the bioactivity and biocompatibility of these materials remain limited. This present study aimed to evaluate the bioactivity and biocompatibility of BPC materials. This study consisted of five experimental groups: Bio C Repair (BCR); BG Multi (BGM); Well pulp ST (WPS); ProRoot MTA (PMTA); and a no capping (NC) group. Measurement of pH, calcium ion (Ca2+</sup
The aim of the study was to review the transgender in relation medical and dental difficulties. The electronic data base was searched, followed the combination of key word. Discrimination in patient care for transgender has been well-documented in many assessment literatures, although there is little in the literatures about healthcare providers’ attitudes and behavior toward transgender people. The Medical problems among transgender were investigated minute; there was no such dental investigati
