류 오하타 교수의 연구실은 뇌가 행동의 주체임을 인지하는 '자기성 경험'(sense of agency)과 그 신경 기반을 연구합니다. 특히 말을 통해 발생하는 자기성 경험의 하부구조와 상부구조, 즉 감각운동적 상호작용과 자아 정체성 인식이 어떻게 통합되는지 다룹니다. 또한 운전과 같은 복잡한 운동 기술의 학습과 적응 과정에서 뇌가 내재된 모델을 전환하는 신경 메커니즘을 MEG와 체성영역 분석을 통해 규명하고 있습니다. 이 연구들은 정신질환, 특히 청각환각과 연관된 자기성 이상의 기초를 제공합니다.
