Abstract Solution‐processed zinc oxide nanocrystals (ZnO NCs) hybridized with insulating poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) are introduced as a cathode interlayer in bulk heterojunction organic photovoltaic cells based on poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (P3HT):(6,6)‐phenyl‐C61 butyric acid methyl ester (PC 61 BM) blends. The performance of devices with ZnO‐PEG interlayers exhibit an excellent maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 4.4% with a fill factor (FF) of 0.69 under optimized conditions. This enhan
The recent advancements in multivalued logic gates represent a rapid paradigm shift in semiconductor technology toward a new era of hyper Moore's law. Particularly, the significant evolution of materials is guiding multivalued logic systems toward a breakthrough gradually, whereby they are transcending the limits of conventional binary logic systems in terms of all the essential figures of merit, i.e., power dissipation, operating speed, circuit complexity, and, of course, the level of the integ
Photon harvesting in organic solar cells is highly dependent on the anisotropic nature of the optoelectronic properties of photoactive materials. Here, we demonstrate an efficient approach to dramatically enhance photon harvesting in planar heterojunction solar cells by using a graphene-organic heterointerface. A large area, residue-free monolayer graphene is inserted at anode interface to serve as an atomically thin epitaxial template for growing highly orientated pentacene crystals with lying-
This article reviews the recent advances in organic electronics based on polymer blends with one-dimensional (1D) nanowires (NWs) of π-conjugated polymers. Self-assembled polymer semiconducting NWs are fascinating building blocks for their directional extension of inter- and intramolecular π-conjugation. This extensive conjugation provides unique electrical and optical properties that benefit applications in organic electronic devices. Outstanding performances are particularly expected from blen
Solution-based processing of two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials is highly desirable, especially for the low-temperature large-area fabrication of flexible multifunctional devices. MXenes, an emerging family of 2D materials composed of transition metal carbides, carbonitrides, or nitrides, provide excellent electrical and electrochemical properties through aqueous processing. Here, we further expand the horizon of MXene processing by introducing a polymeric superdispersant for MXene nanosheets. S
