Sang Ho Lim 교수의 연구실은 주로 나노구조 희토류-철 기반 투명 및 비정질 편광성 자기 재료의 합성과 물성 특성에 중점을 두고 있습니다. 특히, 극저온 냉각 공정을 이용한 박막 및 띠형 합금의 자기 이방성, 자화율, 자성변형(마그네토스트리크션) 특성 향상에 대한 체계적인 연구를 수행하고 있으며, 이는 고성능 센서 및 액추에이터 응용에 기여하고 있습니다. 또한, 체내 치료에 사용되는 체내 고정 수술 시 발생할 수 있는 고분자 유출과 같은 의료 기기의 안전성 문제에 대해서도 임상적 사례를 바탕으로 한 연구를 진행하고 있습니다.

The solid state interconversions of four different crystalline compounds containing the Au2(dppe)2I2 unit (dppe is bis-(diphenylphosphino)ethane) have been observed and characterized through X-ray diffraction and emission spectroscopy. Treatment of AuI in acetone with solid dppe yields the crystalline polymorphs: α-Au2(μ-dppe)2I2·2OCMe2 (1) with orange emission and β-Au2(μ-dppe)2I2·2OCMe2 (2) with green emission. Percutaneous vertebroplasty is a minimally invasive procedure in which polymethylmethacrylate polymer is used to treat painful diseased vertebral bodies. However, despite its minimally invasive nature and relative safety, cement leakage beyond involved vertebral bodies into the venous system can induce devastating cardiovascular complications. Here, the authors report a case of multiple cardiac perforations and pulmonary embolism caused by cement leakage after percutaneous vertebroplasty.

The effects of Al on the soft magnetic properties of nanocrystalline Fe73.5−xAlxCu1Nb3Si13.5B9 alloy ribbons are investigated in the composition range of 0≤x≤1.0. The relative initial permeability at 1 kHz is found to increase by the addition of Al, and reaches the peak value at x=0.1. Four crystalline dimers of the type, Au(I)(2)(μ-PnP)(2)I(2), where PnP is PPh(2)(CH(2))(n)PPh(2) with n = 3, 4, 5, and 6 have been prepared and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and by (31)P NMR and infrared spectroscopy. Au(I)(2)(μ-P3P)(2)I(2) and Au(I)(2)(μ-P6P)(2)I(2) are centrosymmetric dimers with the planar Au(I)P(2)I units oriented in antiparallel fashion. The magnetostriction of melt-spun ribbons of Dyx(Fe1−yBy)1−x (x=0.2, 0.25, 0.3; 0≤y≤0.2) alloys is systematically investigated as a function of the wheel speed during melt quenching. As the wheel speed increases from 10 to 50 m/s, the magnetic softness improves with the wheel speed rather continuously for the alloys with the Dy content x=0.2 and 0.25 but it exhibits a maximum at the wheel speed of 30 or 40 m/s for the alloys with the highest B content (x=0.3).
