The woody <i>Sonchus</i> alliance consists primarily of woody species of the genus <i>Sonchus</i> (subgenus <i>Dendrosonchus</i>; family Asteraceae). Most members of the alliance are endemic to the oceanic archipelagos in the phytogeographic region of Macaronesia.
