Shigeru Tsunoda 교수의 연구실은 식도암의 생물학적 특성과 예후 인자에 중점을 두고 있으며, 특히 ABCG2 및 신경영화성 인자(NGF-TrkA)와 같은 분자 표적의 역할을 규명하고 있습니다. 병리학적 특성과 임상적 결과 간의 연관성을 분석함으로써, 암의 진행 메커니즘과 예후 예측 지표를 제시하고자 합니다. 또한 복강경 수술 후 합병증 모니터링을 위한 영상 검사의 임상적 유용성에 대해서도 연구를 진행하고 있습니다.

The absolute presence of ABCG2-positive cells in the tumor is a single independent prognostic factor, suggesting the underlying roles in malignant characteristics of ESCC other than drug resistance.
TLTG is feasible and can be performed with acceptable postoperative morbidity. A longer operating time and more advanced pathologic stage were significantly associated with higher postoperative morbidity.
Nerve growth factor (NGF) is overexpressed not only in nervous system, but also in several types of cancers. However, the role of NGF in oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma (OESCC) remains unclear.
