Shotaro Chubachi 교수의 연구실은 만성 폐질환, 특히 만성 폐쇄성 폐질환(COPD)의 합병증과 관련된 병태생리학적 메커니즘을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 COPD 환자에서 골다골증, 폐기능 저하, 폐암 발생 위험, 폐동맥고혈압 등 다양한 합병증의 유전적·영상학적 예측 요인을 탐색하고 있으며, 최근에는 코로나19 감염이 COPD 환자에게 미치는 영향에 대해서도 연구를 확장하고 있습니다. 이들의 연구는 임상적 관점에서 환자의 삶의 질 향상과 예후 개선을 위한 기초 자료를 제공합니다.

The severity of COPD exacerbation seemed to be temporally stable over 2 years, and even mild exacerbations adversely impacted the health-related quality of life of patients with COPD.
