Sukyoung Hwang 교수의 연구실은 고망간 페라이트계 스틸의 미세구조와 기계적 거동 간의 상관관계를 중심으로, 고강도·고 ductility를 동시에 확보한 신소재 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 디지털 이미지 상관법(DIC), 동기광선 X선 衍射 및 전자현미경 분석을 융합한 다중 척도 분석 기법을 활용해, 레이저 변형, Lüders 변형, Portevin-Le Chatelier 효과 등 비균일 응력-변형 거동의 메시오스코픽 기반을 규명하고 있습니다. 또한 플라즈마 기반 페인팅법을 통한 폴리머 박막 성장 동역학에 대한 연구를 통해 나노구조 편성 및 표면 기능화 기술도 함께 발전시키고 있습니다.

We have thoroughly clarified the mesoscopic nature of serration behavior in a high-Mn austenitic steel in connection with its characteristic localized deformation. A typical high-Mn steel, Fe-22Mn-0.6C (wt. %), with a face centered cubic (FCC) single-phase structure was used in the present study.
