Sung Soo Kim 교수의 연구실은 신경재생 및 뇌질환 치료를 위한 줄기세포 치료 전략 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 자궁경부 혈액을 이용한 뇌성마비 치료에 대한 임상적 유효성과 안전성을 검증하며, 재생의학과 신경보호 작용을 갖는 인공에리스포이에틴(erythropoietin)의 병용요법에 대한 기초 및 임상 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 또한 망막 및 시신경 관련 생체영상 기반의 생리학적 변화 분석을 통해 눈의 혈류 및 망막 두께 변화와의 연관성을 규명하고 있습니다.

Allogeneic umbilical cord blood (UCB) has therapeutic potential for cerebral palsy (CP). Concomitant administration of recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) may boost the efficacy of UCB, as it has neurotrophic effects. In vivo subfoveal CT as measured by EDI-OCT was significantly associated with OPP in young, healthy subjects when adjusted for RE, suggesting that subfoveal CT may be indirectly indicative of subfoveal ocular perfusion status. This association was not observed in subjects with high myopia.
Macular hole surgery using SF6 gas yields similar results as with C3F8 gas and may be a good option.
The mean subfoveal CT measurement showed the most significant positive correlation with refractive error and the most significant negative correlation with age. For patients younger than 60 years, there was a significant correlation of subfoveal CT with age and refractive error or axial length, whereas such significant association was not observed in subjects older than 60 years.

Acetabular anteversion was measured by using two-dimensional (2-D) computed tomography (CT) scans in 39 dysplastic and 27 normal hips (patient age range, 3-33 years), and averaged 19.7° in the dysplastic hips and 18.1° in the normal hips. In 2002 through 2015, 90.1% of adults in Korea received corticosteroids at least once.
