Sung Yeon Hwang 교수의 연구실은 중환자실에서의 감염성 쇼크 환자 치료에 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 특히 혈액 락테이트, 산소화 상태, 혈역학적 상태와 같은 생체지표를 바탕으로 예후를 평가하고자 합니다. 또한 조기 항생제 투여 지연의 영향과 비타민 C·티아민 보조요법이 ICU 내 정신병적 합병증에 미치는 영향 등 치료 전략의 최적화를 연구하고 있습니다. 특히 영상 기반 기관절개술 기기의 성능 평가 등 응급의료 기술의 임상적 적용성에 대해서도 관심을 기울이고 있습니다.

The prognostic performance of the L/A ratio was superior to that of a single lactate measurement for predicting 28-day mortality of critically ill sepsis patients. L/A ratio can be a useful prognostic factor regardless of initial lactate level and the presence of hepatic or renal dysfunction.
Oxygenation category, as represented by initial Scvo2 and lactate levels, was significantly associated with 28-day mortality in patients with severe sepsis or septic shock. Associations between Scvo2 ≥70% and 28-day survival were observed only in patients without severe lactic acidosis.
