Connecting a component produced as great a displacement as that resulting solely from a impression or cast fabrication. The nonsplinted group was more accurate during impression making but less accurate during cast fabrication.
Based on this study conducted in five beagle dogs, a concave transmucosal profile with a microgrooved surface was associated with longer connective tissue attachments and less bone resorption versus implants that were flared with a machined surface or straight with an anodic oxidized surface in the early healing phase. Int J Oral Maxillofac Implants 2010;25:309-314.
For customized abutments, cleaning with steam is ineffective. CHX scrubbing effectively eliminates only bacteria. Ultrasonic cleaning with CHX solution, acetone, and ethyl alcohol successfully removes both foreign bodies and bacteria. Thus, the ultrasonic cleaning method is conveniently applicable in the dental clinic for eliminating contamination of the customized abutment surface.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to present a new method to analyze the three-dimensional accuracy of complete-arch dental impressions and verify the reliability of the method. Additionally, the accuracies of conventional and intraoral digital impressions were compared using the new method. Methods: A master model was fabricated using 14 milled polyetheretherketone cylinders and a maxillary acrylic model. Each cylinder was positioned and named according to its corresponding tooth position. Twe
Compared to constant thickness coping with or without extended collars, the novel coping design reduced MPS in veneer ceramics; however, narrow zirconia beams should be avoided to prevent elevations in MPS in veneer ceramic layers.
The effect of microthreads at the implant neck on the amount of marginal bone resorption is controversial. This multicenter retrospective study compared the implant survival rate and amount of marginal bone resorption between two platform-switching internal connection implant systems with or without microthreads. Patient-related (age and sex), surgery-related (implant installation site, type, diameter, and length), and prosthesis-related (prosthesis type) data were collected from patient charts
A crossed occlusion resulting from the presence of posterior teeth in one arch but no opposing teeth in the opposite arch results in collapse of the vertical dimension. In this case, the patient has a class III malocclusion with crossed occlusion and anterior crossbite. In order to evaluate the proper vertical dimension, provisional denture was used to stabilize the vertical occlusal dimension for 3 months. After, provisional fixed restoration was used for the stabilizing occlusal relationship a
