Taigo Kato 교수의 연구실은 암의 면역치료 전략 개발을 핵심으로 하며, 특히 종양 관련 신규항원(neoantigen)을 타겟으로 하는 T세포 반응과 면역검사점 억제제의 작용 기전을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 신규 염기서열 분석 및 T세포 수용체(TCR) 리파지터리 분석을 통해 종양 내 및 종양 외 면역 반응의 동적 변화를 실시간으로 분석하고 있으며, 이는 비침습적 예측 생물학적 마커 개발로 이어집니다. 또한, 암세포의 생존과 간세포 특성 유지에 관여하는 신호전달 분자(TOPK, MELK 등)의 기능과 그 억제제의 항암 효과에 대해서도 연구를 진행하고 있습니다.
