Preservation of the deep retinal vasculature is crucial for better visual function in BRVO.
AIM To assess the choroidal thickness and choroidal circulatory changes in eyes with myopic choroidal neovascularisation (mCNV). METHODS Retrospective, consecutive, observational case series. Forty-two consecutive eyes (17 eyes with newly diagnosed mCNV and 25 eyes without CNV) were included. Choroidal circulation was evaluated by indocyanine green angiography (ICGA), and choroidal thickness was measured by spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT). The factors associated with mCNV w
FAF appears to reflect the integrity of the photoreceptor layer. It may serve as a secondary outcome measure for novel therapeutic strategies for RP.
Polypoidal lesions of PCV are treatable with PDT; however, they often recur. The branching vascular networks do not regress and allow the recurrence of polypoidal lesions at the network termini. Alterations of the vascular features may occur; careful observation is needed after PDT.
Anti-VEGF therapy maintains retinal perfusion in most patients with RVO. Preserving retinal perfusion is crucial for better visual outcomes.
Integrity of the photoreceptor layer was correlated with better long-term visual outcomes after MH repair. Reconstruction of the foveal ELM and disappearance of glial proliferation in the early postoperative period predicted better visual recovery.
Compared with 3 monthly injections followed by PRN, single injection followed by PRN for myopic choroidal neovascularization required fewer injections and produced a similar visual outcome over 12 months.
Purpose. To investigate aqueous concentrations of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in eyes with myopic choroidal neovascularization (CNV). Methods. Aqueous samples were collected, and VEGF concentrations were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in 16 eyes (16 patients) with active myopic CNV, 23 eyes (16 patients) with high myopia without myopic CNV, and 8 control eyes (7 patients). Differences in the concentrations of VEGF in each group were compared. Results. The estimated m
Vascular endothelial cells (ECs) that constitute the inner surface of blood vessels are essential for new vessel formation and organ homeostasis. ECs display remarkable phenotypic heterogeneity across different organs and the vascular tree during angiogenesis and homeostasis. Recent advances in single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) technologies have allowed a new understanding of EC heterogeneity in both mice and humans. In particular, scRNA-seq has identified new molecular signatures for arter
