Shimizu 교수의 연구실은 뼈의 미세구조와 관절 질환의 생체역학적 기전을 중심으로 한 고해상도 허브-고해상도 CT(HR-pQCT)를 활용한 류마티스성 관절염 및 골다공로시스의 조기 진단 및 치료 반응 평가를 연구하고 있습니다. 특히, 항-TNFα 치료가 뼈 침식 진행을 억제하는 메커니즘을 3개월 이내의 단기 평가로 규명하며, 관절염과 골다공로시스의 연관성, 특히 하부연골 뼈의 취약성과 부식성 골절(SIF)의 역할을 밝혀내고 있습니다. 또한 수술 영상 분석을 위한 수술도구 및 손 움직임 기반 도구 분류 기술 개발을 통해 외과 수술의 정밀도 향상에도 기여하고 있습니다.

Using HR-pQCT, our data suggest that anti-TNFα treatment prevents erosion progression and deterioration of bone microarchitecture within the first 3 months of treatment, one patient not responding to treatment, had significant progression of bone erosions within this short time period.
