토모지 마시모 교수의 연구실은 유전자 편집 기술을 활용한 질병 모델링과 면역결핍 동물 모델 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 ZFN, TALEN, ENU 유전자 변형 기술을 응용해 래트 및 마우스 모델을 구축하여 신경질환, 면역결핍, 암 치료 등에 응용 가능한 유전자 기반 동물 모델을 개발하고 있습니다. 또한 DNA 수리 및 면역세포 기능 이상과 관련된 유전자 기전을 규명하는 데에도 기여하고 있습니다.

The efficient and rapid generation of gene knockout rats shows that using ZFN technology is a new strategy for creating gene-targeted rat models of human diseases.
