이 교수의 연구실은 척추 연골의 비정상적 석회화인 후방인대화증(OPLL)과 연막화증(OLF)의 발병 메커니즘과 대사 이상 간의 연관성을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 비만, 이상지질혈증, 비알코올성간지방증(NAFLD)과 같은 대사증후군 요법이 OPLL/OLF의 진행에 미치는 영향을 임상적·영상학적 데이터를 기반으로 규명하고 있습니다. 또한 어류의 난세포에서의 지질 흡수 조절 메커니즘을 연구함으로써 대사 조절의 기초 메커니즘을 탐색하고 있습니다.
