우구르 코르쿠트 파타 교수의 연구실은 에너지 정책과 환경 경제학을 융합한 학문적 접근을 바탕으로, 핵에너지와 재생에너지의 환경적 영향을 체계적으로 분석하고 있습니다. 특히 탄소 배출, 생태적 발자국, 부하 용량 요인 등 종합적인 환경 지표를 활용해 에너지 소비가 환경 품질에 미치는 영향을 다각도로 연구하고 있으며, 기후 중립성 달성을 위한 정책적 대안을 모색하고 있습니다. 연구는 주로 아시아 및 유럽 국가들을 대상으로 한 고도의 통계적 모델링을 기반으로 진행됩니다.

This study investigates the impacts of nuclear energy consumption on environmental quality from a different perspective by focusing on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, ecological footprint, and load capacity factor. In this context, the South Korea case, which is a leading country producing and consuming nuclear energy, is investigated by considering also economic growth, and the 1997 Asian crisis from 1977 to 2018. This study analyzes the effect of renewable energy research & development (RRD) and nuclear energy research & development (NRD) expenditures on environmental quality by considering Germany’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality until 2045. Hence, the study uses various environmental indicators (carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, ecological footprint-EF, and load capacity factor-LCF) to investigate the effects of RRD and NRD on the environmental quality controlling also a gross domestic product (GDP)
