W. L. Quint Oga-Baldwin 교수의 연구실은 초등학교 영어교육 현장에서의 학생 동기부여, 교사의 수업 전략, 언어 사용 환경 조성 등에 초점을 맞춘 실증적 연구를 수행합니다. 특히 자기결정성 이론을 바탕으로 학생의 정서적 욕구(자기결정성, 유능감, 유대감)와 동기의 상호작용을 분석하며, 영어 학습 환경에서의 효과적 피드백 방식과 학생의 모국어 사용의 적절한 균형에 대해서도 탐구합니다. 연구는 일본과 미국의 초등학교 수업을 비교 분석함으로써 다문화·다국적 맥락에서의 언어교육 전략을 모색합니다.
