이 교수의 연구실은 의료 영상 분석과 첨단 의료 기기 개발을 중심으로, 구강악안면영상의학과 수술의 정밀도 향상을 목표로 합니다. 특히 흉부·구강 내 영상(팬크레오그램, CBCT)을 활용한 AI 기반 자동 진단 기술과, 비침습적 생체 신호 측정(ECG 기반 호흡 모니터링) 기술을 개발하고 있습니다. 수술 현장에서의 정밀한 위치 보정을 위한 로봇 기반 영상 유도 수술 시스템의 기반 기술 개발도 진행 중입니다.

The CNN method we developed for automatically diagnosing odontogenic cysts and tumors of both jaws on panoramic radiographs using data augmentation showed high sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and AUC despite the limited number of panoramic images involved.
We developed a system to measure ECG without subject's awareness and derived respiration from the ECG using the wavelet transform. The bed sheet electrodes consisted of three pieces of conductive textiles. Cone-beam CT (CBCT) is widely used in dental clinics but exhibits limitations in assessing soft tissue pathology because of its lack of contrast resolution and low Hounsfield Units (HU) quantification accuracy.
