Won Keun Oh 교수의 연구실은 대사질환과 신경퇴행성질환의 예방 및 치료를 위한 천연물 기반 신약 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 약용식물에서 유래한 생활물질이 대사 조절 효소(AMPK, ACC2, PTP1B 등)를 타겟으로 하여 인슐린 감수성 향상, 지방산 산화 증가, 염증 반응 억제 등의 생리적 효과를 유도하는 메커니즘을 규명하고 있습니다. 또한, 해조류 유래 천연물의 항바이러스 작용과 항산화 활성에 대한 기초 연구도 병행하고 있습니다.
