우크 송 교수의 연구실은 노화가 근육에 미치는 영향과 운동이 이를 완화하는 메커니즘을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 노화와 관련된 근육 위축, 세포 사멸(apoptosis), 미토콘드리아 기능 저하 및 myokine, apelin, BHB 등 운동 유도 단백질의 대사 및 신경 보호 효과에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 다양한 모델(세포, 동물, 인간)을 활용한 기전 연구를 통해 노화 예방 및 노인 건강 향상 전략을 모색하고 있습니다.
