우키 김 교수의 연구실은 식이 지방산, 특히 오메가-3 나일레산(오메가-3 n-3 PUFA)이 면역세포의 세밀한 신호전달 메커니즘과 세밀한 세포막 구조(지질 랩)에 미치는 영향을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 T세포의 활성화 과정에서 지질 랩의 형성과 미토콘드리아 에너지 대사가 어떻게 조절되는지, 이를 통해 면역 반응과 염증 반응이 조절되는지를 다각도로 분석하고 있습니다. 식이 성분이 면역세포 기능과 세포 에너지 대사에 미치는 영향을 기반으로, 식품 성분의 기능성 개선 및 질병 예방 전략을 모색하고 있습니다.
