이 교수의 연구실은 산화 스트레스, 염증 반응 및 세포 손상과 관련된 질병, 특히 대사성 질환과 혈관질환의 분자 기전을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 주로 플라보노이드, 메틸글리옥살, 아크로알데하이드 등 자연 유래 화합물이 세포 신호전달 경로(예: PKC-δ, p38 MAPK, HO-1, COX-2)에 미치는 영향을 연구하며, 특히 내피세포 기능 장애와 동맥경화의 발달 기전을 밝혀내는 데 기여하고 있습니다. 또한, 멜라토닌과 같은 생리활성 물질이 암세포에서 에피제네틱 조절을 통해 항암 작용을 하는 메커니즘을 탐색하고 있습니다.
