The first three-dimensional (3D) conductive single-ion magnet (SIM), (TTF)2 [Co(pdms)2 ] (TTF=tetrathiafulvalene and H2 pdms=1,2-bis(methanesulfonamido)benzene), was electrochemically synthesised and investigated structurally, physically, and theoretically. The similar oxidation potentials of neutral TTF and the molecular precursor [HNEt3 ]2 [M(pdms)2 ] (M=Co, Zn) allow for multiple charge transfers (CTs) between the SIM donor [M(
Cooperation between single-molecule magnets and electrical conductivity holds promise for preparing high-density magnetic devices; however, there are only a few reports so far. Here we report a 4f-π-based molecular hybrid, <i>k</i>-(ET)5Dy(NCS)7(KCl)0.5 (<b>1</b>) (ET = bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene, NCS- = thiocyanate), which undergoes slow relaxation of the magnetization and electrical conductivity. Unlike common ET-based conductive salts, K<
Electrochemical oxidation of a solution containing KDy(hfac)4 (hfac, hexafluoroacetyacetone) and Bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene (BEDT-TTF) afforded a hybrid material formulated as [β′-(BEDT-TTF)2Dy(CF3COO)4∙MeCN]n. The complex crystallizes in the triclinic space group P 1 ¯ . The before mentioned complex has a chain structure containing 4f ions bridged by mono-anion CF3COO− ligand, and acts as single-molecule magnet (SMM) at low temperature. The conducting layer was composed of partially
Lithium-ion-encapsulated fullerenes (Li+@C60) are 3D superatoms with rich oxidative states. Here we show a conductive and magnetically frustrated metal-fullerene-bonded framework {[Cu4(Li@C60)(L)(py)4](NTf2)(hexane)}n (1) (L = 1,2,4,5-tetrakis(methanesulfonamido)benzene, py = pyridine, NTf2- = bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonamide anion) prepared from redox-active dinuclear metal complex Cu2(
The potential to introduce tunable electrical conductivity and molecular magnetism through carrier doping in metal-organic coordination polymers is particularly promising for nanoelectronics applications. Precise control of the doping level is essential for determining the electronic and magnetic properties. In this study, we present a series of one-dimensional coordination polymers, {(HNEt3)0.5[Cu<i>x</i>Co(1-<i>x</i>)(L)]}<i>n</i> (HNEt<su

ABSTRACT In the existing magnetoelastic theories, stress is proportional to the square of magnetic intensity and the linear model developed is usually used to analyse magnetoelastic problems. For a crack problem, the perturbation of the magnetic field caused by deformation is not much less than the applied field. In this paper, complex potentials for a mode I crack with a nonlinear relation for magnetic intensity are developed. The boundary conditions on crack faces are represented in terms of t
We studied the spatial frequency response of a multilayer-coated tip for magnetic force microscopy both theoretically and experimentally. The tip coating is a multilayer structure, with two ferromagnetic layers coupled in antiparallel via an ultrathin nonmagnetic layer. We simulated the magnetic response of this kind of tip for longitudinal magnetic transitions. The results showed that the multilayer tip has a higher resolution than a single-layer tip.
Abstract. Singular spectrum analysis (SSA) is a powerful technique for time series analysis. Based on the property that the original time series can be reproduced from its principal components, this contribution will develop an improved SSA (ISSA) for processing the incomplete time series and the modified SSA (SSAM) of Schoellhamer (2001) is its special case. The approach was evaluated with the synthetic and real incomplete time series data of suspended-sediment concentration from San Francisco
Co(II)-based coordination polymer is reported as a new benchmark single-chain magnet (SCM), exhibiting an energy barrier (Ueff) of 560 K and a blocking temperature (TB) of 21.5 K‒both the highest values observed for SCM systems. The magnetic behavior originates from the synergistic balance between strong axial anisotropy (DCo = -83 cm-1) and moderate ferromagnetic exchange (JCo-Co = +17.7 K), promoting long-range spin correlation over thousa
