Young-Hee Lim 교수의 연구실은 프로바이오틱스, 특히 프로피오니박테리움 프루덴라이히이의 생리적 기능과 그 기전을 중심으로 한 기초 및 번역 연구를 수행하고 있습니다. 주로 캐노라비티스 엘레강스 모델과 동물·세포 배양 모델을 활용해 수명 연장, 장막 보호, 뼈 형성 촉진 등의 기전을 규명하고 있으며, 특히 프로피온산 생성을 통한 면역 조절 및 대사 조절 기능에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 이는 만성 염증성 질환 및 노화 관련 질환 예방에 기여할 수 있는 새로운 프로바이오틱스 전략 개발을 목표로 합니다.

We have found that Pseudomonas putida ATCC 17642 cells grown in a medium containing D-threonine as the sole nitrogen source produce an enzyme that catalyzes epimerization of threonine. Resveratrol (RES) has been studied for its effects on the lifespan extension of Caenorhabditis elegans, but controversy still remains on its mechanism related with SIR-2. In this study, longevity assay was performed to confirm SIR-2-dependent lifespan extension of C. elgeans with RES and oxyresveratrol (OXY), an isomer of hydroxylated RES using loss-of-function mutants of C. elegans including sir-2.1 mutant.
