이 교수의 연구실은 주로 의료 및 재활공학 분야에서 활동하며, 특히 낙상 예측 및 보호 기술, 웨어러블 센서 기반의 건강 모니터링, 그리고 보행 보조 장치 개발에 중점을 두고 있습니다. 특히 전립선암의 염기서열 변화와 메틸화 기전을 분석한 분자생물학적 연구와도 연계해, 노인의 낙상 예방을 위한 스마트 기기 및 활성형 보조기구의 설계와 최적화를 연구하고 있습니다. 최근에는 관성 측정장치(IMU)를 활용한 전기적 낙상 탐지 알고리즘과 함께, 낙상 직전 신호를 감지해 충격을 줄이는 에어백 시스템까지 응용 기술을 확장하고 있습니다.

In this study, a pre-impact fall detection algorithm using a custom-made inertial sensor was optimized, and a spring-trigger airbag system was developed for preventing injuries from falls. Four different types of simulated falls were performed by 20 healthy volunteers (age 23.4 4.4 years), and six different daily activities were tested in 14 elderly subjects (age 71.8 4.0 years). The present study was performed to investigate the effect on the skin and the intra-articular structures of 5-minutes of cold air application. During and after 5 minutes of cold air application on 20 healthy subjects, the skin and intra-articular temperatures were measured by means of an infrared thermogram and a digital k-wire probe, respectively. As the number of classifiers (1 to 8) and size of training data (50 to 300) increased, the average accuracy of the E-ANN-based classifier increased and the standard deviation decreased.
