The prevalence of LLNM was high although the prognostic impact is unknown. The significant risk factors for LLNM were not much different from known risk factors for CLNM.
Speech after SCPL was not better than speech after TL-VP and was widely variable. The configuration of the neoglottis during phonation in the SCPL group was also variable. We believe that some technical refinement during the operation could improve speech outcome after SCPL.
Basal cell adenomas of the parotid gland present as small well-marginated tumors and appear as masses with central large cysts or solid masses with microcysts on CT and MR imaging scans. Basal cell adenomas of the parotid gland had at least 2 different enhancement patterns on the 2-phase helical CT scans, and the enhancement patterns and imaging architecture were related to the histologic subtype of the tumors.
Most recent survival prediction has been based on TNM staging, which does not provide individualized information. However, clinical factors including performance status, age, sex, and smoking might influence survival. Therefore, we used artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze various clinical factors to precisely predict the survival of patients with larynx squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC). We included patients with LSCC (N = 1026) who received definitive treatment from 2002 to 2020. Age, sex, smo
The SUVs from FDG PET imaging alone cannot predict the pathologic extrathyroid invasion in patients with TPMC. However, the ultrasonographic findings, such as tumor site, provide better information about the extrathyroid invasion of TPMC tumor foci.
Among cytokines applied for immunotherapy of cancer, one of the most successful approaches to date involves systemic delivery of high-dose interleukin (IL)-2. However, the clinical utility of high-dose IL-2 has been limited by significant adverse effects, including vascular leak syndrome. Given this limitation, many attempts to decrease the dosage of IL-2 while maintaining its antitumor therapeutic effects are being made. In this study, the authors observed that combined use of IL-18 and low-dos
BRAF mutation of PTC may have differential predictive values for LN metastasis, according to tumor size.
Adoptive transfer of dendritic cells pulsed with apoptotic tumor cells as a source of tumor antigens, can elicit effective antitumor responses in the poorly immunogenic SCC model when combined with interleukin-2.
