유즈케 히라타 교수의 연구실은 전자기적 이온 운반체인 CNNM 단백질의 생화학적 기전과 산화 스트레스 반응을 조절하는 신호전달 경로를 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 마그네슘 이온 순환과 관련된 단백질 기능, ASK1를 중심으로 한 산화 스트레스-세포 사멸 신호 경로, 그리고 산업적으로 생성되는 트랜스지방산(TFA)이 유도하는 DNA 손상 및 신경염증 반응 메커니즘을 규명하고 있습니다. 이는 심혈관 질환과 신경퇴행성 질환의 병태생리 기전을 밝히는 데 기여하고 있습니다.

Ancient conserved domain protein/cyclin M (CNNM) family proteins are evolutionarily conserved Mg(2+) transporters. However, their biochemical mechanism of action remains unknown.
