Zulvikar Syambani Ulhaq 교수의 연구실은 신경발달 및 신경질환에서 호르몬(특히 에스트로겐)과 염증성 사이토카인(IL-6, IL-10)의 역할을 중심으로 연구를 진행하고 있습니다. 특히 어류에서의 뇌 아로마타제(AroB) 기능과 성호르몬이 신경세포 형성에 미치는 영향, 그리고 인체에서 IL-6 유전자 다형성과 녹내장, 파킨슨병 등 신경안과질환 간의 연관성에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 또한, 염증 반응과 호르몬 조절의 상호작용이 뇌 및 눈의 병리에 어떻게 기여하는지 기초 및 임상적 관점에서 종합적으로 탐구하고 있습니다.
