A persistent monophasic wave pattern on Doppler US images of the hepatic veins is suggestive of, but not specific for, substantial hepatic vein stenosis after LDLT. A persistent triphasic wave pattern on Doppler US images can exclude the possibility of substantial stenosis.
CT is useful in the differentiation of mucinous from nonmucinous colorectal carcinoma.
Breast MR imaging can identify otherwise occult breast cancer in patients with metastatic axillary lymph nodes. Localization of the lesions through MR-correlated mammography and second-look sonography is practically feasible in most cases.
Contrast-enhanced US using a second-generation US contrast material was useful for the evaluation of tumor angiogenesis of breast tumors in the rat.
Ultrasound-guided vacuum-assisted percutaneous excision showed high effectiveness for the removal of benign breast masses. However, more attention should be given to certain lesions to increase the efficacy.
This study aimed to compare the accuracy and inter- and intra-observer reproducibility of the measured elasticity between 2 shear wave elastography systems. Three breast radiologists examined 8 targets of 4 different levels of stiffness (size: 11 mm, 4 mm) in an elasticity phantom (Customized 049A Elasticity QA Phantom, CIRS, Norfolk, VA, USA) using 2 different shear wave ultrasound elastography systems: SuperSonic Imagine (SSI) (SSI, Aix en Provence, France) and ShearScan (RS-80A, Samsung Medis
Breast lymphoma is uncommon, and it usually involves breast parenchyma and ipsilateral axillary lymph nodes. We report rare cases of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma involving the skin and subcutaneous fat layers mimicking panniculitis of the breasts in a 33-year-old male patient who presented with a growing palpable mass and pain in both breasts and in 17-year-old female patient who presented with an indolent palpable breast mass for 1 year. Extranodal natural killer/T-cell nasal-type and subcutaneous
This study aimed to compare the background echotexture (BE) between automated breast ultrasound (ABUS) and handheld breast ultrasound (HHUS) and evaluate the correlation of BE with mammographic (MG) density and background parenchymal enhancement (BPE) on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). A total of 212 women with newly diagnosed breast cancer who had undergone preoperative ABUS, HHUS, MG, and MRI were included. Two breast radiologists blinded to the menopausal status analyzed the BE of the contr

The role of ultrasound-guided interventions in the diagnosis and treatment of breast lesions is gaining importance and prevalence, particularly as the instances of non-palpable breast lesion detection, breast-conserving surgery, and neoadjuvant chemotherapy are increasing. This review attempts to summarize the types and techniques of breast ultrasound-guided interventional procedures, such as biopsy, tissue marker insertion, and preoperative localization, and their indications. Furthermore, we h
Hemolytic-uremic syndrome (HUS) is the most common cause of acute renal failure in young children. It is classically characterized by the triad of microangiopathic hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, and uremia. Further, not only is intussusception one of the differential diagnoses of HUS but it may also become a complication during disease progression. We report a case of HUS preceded by intussusception in a previously healthy 17-month-old boy. The patient presented at the emergency department
