Keiichi Shirasu 교수의 연구실은 고분자 복합재료와 나노소재의 구조-물성 상관관계를 중심으로 연구를 진행합니다. 에폭시 수지의 화학적 조성이 기계적 거칠기 및 파손 거동에 미치는 영향, 탄소 나노튜브의 결함과 다층 구조가 강도에 미치는 영향을 분자역학 시뮬레이션과 실험을 융합하여 규명하고 있습니다. 특히, 나노복합재의 내구성과 강도를 향상시키기 위한 표면화학적 상호작용 및 미세구조 제어 기반 설계 원리를 개발하고 있습니다.
