이 교수의 연구실은 식물성 섬유소와 곰팡이에서 유래한 효소의 상호작용을 중심으로, 고결정성 섬유소의 효소적 분해 메커니즘을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 셀룰로오스 분해 효소인 세로비오오르라제(Cel7A)와 세로비오오르라제 산화효소(CDH)의 작용 메커니즘, 표면에서의 이동 및 침착 거동을 고속 원자력 현미경 등 첨단 기술을 통해 실시간으로 분석하고 있습니다. 또한 다양한 섬유소 다형체(예: Iα, Iβ, III(I))에서 효소의 침착도와 특이적 활성의 상관관계를 표면 농도 개념을 통해 정량화하여 효소 설계에 기여하고자 합니다.
