키요시 하세가와 교수의 연구실은 간세포암종(HCC)의 수술적 치료 전략과 임상 지침 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 특히 해부학적 절제술이 비해부학적 절제술보다 더 유리한 결과를 보인다는 연구를 통해 정확한 수술 기법의 중요성을 입증하고 있으며, 일본 간학회가 제작한 간세포암종 임상지침의 최신 버전 개정에도 기여했습니다. 또한 바이러스성 간염, 특히 B형 간염 바이러스의 변이가 급성 간부전과 연관되는 메커니즘에 대해서도 분자생물학적 접근을 통해 규명하고 있습니다.
