Ryo Honda 교수의 연구실은 환경 미생물학과 수질 오염 모니터링을 중심으로, 도시 하수처리에서 발생하는 항생제 내성 유전자 및 병원성 미생물의 동태를 연구합니다. 특히, 환경 기반 전염병 예측(Wastewater-based Epidemiology)과 항생제 내성의 환경적 전파 메커니즘을 중심으로 한 생물정보학적 분석을 수행합니다. 또한, 하수를 활용한 미세조류 기반 바이오연료 생산 등 자원 회수 기반의 지속 가능한 환경 기술 개발에도 기여하고 있습니다.

Abstract Yearly discharge of antibiotic-resistant bacteria (ARB) from combined sewer overflow (CSO) was estimated. The volume of CSO was estimated from operating data of the pumping station. In the target sewer catchment, 23% of the total of the volume of combined sewage was discharged untreated as CSO. Abstract Antimicrobial resistome in wastewater treatment plants was investigated via shotgun metagenomic analysis over a variety of geographical locations, seasons, and biological treatment configurations.
