Sang Kun Lee 교수의 연구실은 주로 신경외과적 치료가 어려운 원인 미명성 신경핵성 간질(특히 뇌경색이 없는 신경핵성 간질)의 진단 및 수술적 결과를 개선하기 위한 연구를 중심으로 전개되고 있습니다. 고해상도 뇌전도도, 자기공명영상, 세침주면역검사 등 다양한 진단 도구의 임상적 유용성과 예후 인자 규명에 초점을 맞추고 있으며, 자가면역성 뇌염과 같은 신경질환의 조기 진단 및 치료 전략 개발에도 기여하고 있습니다. 특히 수술 전 평가의 정확도 향상과 예후 예측 모델 개발을 통해 개인화된 간질 치료에 기여하고자 합니다.

Surgical treatment of cryptogenic neocortical epilepsy is challenging. The aim of this study was to evaluate surgical outcomes and to identify possible prognostic factors including the results of various diagnostic tools. Age at surgery and hippocampal sclerosis are independent prognostic factors for ATL in mesial TLE. These findings suggest that mesial TLE may be a progressive disorder, and surgical outcome is better when early ATL is performed.
