이 교수의 연구실은 도시 기후 변화와 환경 영향 평가를 중심으로, 도시화가 초래하는 열섬 현상, 탄소 순환, 토지 이용 변화 및 생태계 서비스에 미치는 영향을 다룹니다. 특히, 원격 감지 및 공간 분석 기법을 활용해 기후 변화 적응 전략, 보전 정책, 환경 정책 수립에 기여할 수 있는 정량적 평가 도구를 개발하고 있습니다. 연구는 한국을 중심으로 아시아의 대도시와 농촌·도서 지역까지 확장되어, 기후 변화 대비 능력 향상과 지속 가능한 환경 관리를 위한 실용적 접근을 추구합니다.

Urban heat island (UHI) is a phenomenon that occurs in cities worldwide. The purpose of this study was to develop a Korean climate change vulnerability assessment tool, the Vulnerability Assessment Tool to build Climate Change Adaptation Plan (VESTAP).
