Tatsushi Toda 교수의 연구실은 신경퇴행성질환, 특히 파킨슨병과 푸쿠야마형 선천성 근이영양증(Fukuyama-type congenital muscular dystrophy, FCMD)과 같은 유전성 신경근병의 유전적 기반을 규명하는 데 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. We studied 20 single nucleotide polymorphisms in 18 candidate genes for association with Parkinson's disease. We found that homozygosity for the V66M polymorphism of the brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) gene occurs more frequently in patients with Parkinson's disease than in unaffected controls (chi(2) = 5.46) and confirmed an association with the S18Y polymorphism of the UCH-L1 gene.
