To efficiently mitigate the multitude of direct and indirect impacts, basin-scale drought characterization is imperative, particularly for India, where water scarcity is continually increasing. We jointly used the GRACE gravity data, PCR-GLOBWB model outputs, and in situ data to quantify the deficits based on land water storage (LWS) and groundwater storage (GWS) in Peninsular India for 35 years from January 1980 to December 2014. The results showed that the study basins experienced high interan
Accurate quantification of the terrestrial water cycle relies on combinations of multisource datasets. This analysis uses data from remotely sensed, in-situ, and reanalysis records to quantify the terrestrial water budget/balance and component uncertainties in the upper Chao Phraya River Basin from May 2002 to April 2020. Three closure techniques are applied to merge independent records of water budget components, creating up to 72 probabilistic realizations of the monthly water budget for the u
In the present study, the concentration of 13PAHs and the six indicator PCBs was determined through GC-MS/MS in 36 grilled and fried fish products. The study is unique in terms of the simultaneous determination of two types of persistent organic pollutants in grilled and fried fish products. The concentration of ∑13PAHs and ∑6PCBs in these samples varied from 20.80 ± 2.06-947.65 ± 40.85 µg kg-1 and 2.86 ± 0.16-46.52 ± 0.46 µg kg-1, respectively. Dietary exposure and human h
Delhi and its surrounding region are among the important intraplate seismically active regions of India. According to the Bureau of Indian Standards, it lies in seismic zone IV and is capable of generating small to moderate earthquakes. This region has also experienced moderate to large earthquakes in the past due to its proximity to the Himalayan arc and its own tectonics. There is an urgent need to assess the source characteristics of earthquakes and their scaling relationships for a reliable
<p>Frequent droughts and floods in the Chao Phraya river basin, which contributes about 66% to Thailand&#8217;s GDP, have cost the country&#8217;s socio-economic development in several ways. We quantified the Land Water Storage (LWS) in the basin using the three data products, i.e., two mascons and one spherical harmonic in terms of anomaly time series of equivalent water depth or volume, from the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite data from A
