Airo Hino教授の研究室は、政治的イデオロギーと価値観の変容、特にポストマテリアル主義的価値の測定とその社会的要因を、主に比較政治とアンケート調査手法の観点から分析しています。特に、順位付け尺度と評価尺度のバイアス問題に注目し、因子分析におけるバイアスを是正する新しい測定手法の開発と応用を進めています。また、欧州諸国の新興政党の台頭や日本の政治的世論の変動を、大規模な選挙データと実験的アンケートを用いて定量的に解明しています。

This paper aims to put the classic debate on ranking and rating methods in survey research into retest by re-examining the famous Inglehart batteries of post-materialist value orientation.
