Akihisa Mori教授の研究室は、生態学的・生理学的適応と食性の進化の関係を、特に爬虫類をモデルとして、捕食形態、摂食力学、嚥下時間と実際の食性の関連を統合的に解明することを目的としています。特に、一般食性と専性のヘビを比較し、季節的におこる両生類の豊富な餌資源への適応を、形態的・生理的特徴と結びつけて分析しています。この研究は、捕食者の食性特化のメカニズムを、理論と実証の両面から解明する点で、生態学的適応の理解を深める基盤を提供しています。
