当研究室では、神経変性疾患や血管新生におけるホルモン・シグナル伝達の役割に注目し、特にアプラン/APJ系が脳や網膜における酸素ホメオスタシスと神経保護に果たす重要な機能を解明しています。特に、ALSモデルマウスを用いた神経保護機構の解明や、ストレス応答における側頭連合核(Claustro)の中枢的役割の解明が進んでいます。また、植物のRNAインターフェアリングのシグナル伝達機構についても、グラフト実験を用いて分子メカニズムを解明しています。
